Flagon & Dragon helps to give quality of care to region's newborns
Mackay Base Hospital is the proud owner of a Giraffe Shuttle thanks to Flagon & Dragon Mackay who presented the $19,000 piece of equipment to the Mackay Hospital Foundation.
The Giraffe Shuttle keeps babies at a stable temperature whilse moving to the Special Care Nursery or the birth suites. The shuttle connects to the Panda Warmers that keep our premature or unwell babies warm and content.
Its important newborn babes are kept at a constant temperature, resulting in the Giraffe Shuttle being a welcomed addition to the equipment in the Mackay Base Hospital operating theatre.
In 2015/16 the Flagon & Dragon raised over $180,000 with over $74,000 allocated to the children’s wards of the Mackay Base Hospital, as well as local regional hospitals, with the assistance of the Mackay Hospital Foundation.
As part of the donation, the Mackay Hospital Foundation has facilitated the purchase of the Giraffe Shuttle; the first of its kind for Mackay Base Hospital.
