Every 2 years an exclusive & truly unique event takes place in Mackay. Over just a few hours, on a Friday afternoon in October, 200 local business people join forces for an afternoon of fun, frivolity & above all – FUNDRAISING!
Flagon & Dragon fundraising luncheon is a biennial event initiated in 1992 when a small group of businessmen met and raised almost $2000 initially donated to the Variety Club of Queensland.
The drive to fundraise was steered on by a personal experience by one of these businessmen and his son, and subsequent events raised funds that were donated to the Children’s Wards at both Mackay Base and Mackay Mater Hospitals. These funds allowed the Hospitals to purchase equipment allowing children to be treated at home rather than travelling afield.
27 years on, 13 luncheons later and the Mackay region have benefited to the tune of over $1.3 Million Dollars due to the hard work of a few, and the tremendous support of many. We intend for our 2019 fundraising year to be very special indeed.

Our last event we celebrated our 25th Anniversary & raised $200,000.
The Flagon & Dragon committee are devoted to raising much needed funds for sick children and their families within the Mackay region.
